Fabrizio Giugiaro was born on March 7, 1965 in Torino.
Married to Jessica Montori, he has three daughters: Paolina, Flora Maria and Adele. Very keen on rallies, Fabrizio Giugiaro holds a pilot’s licence for both helicopter and light aircraft.
He is Co‐Chairman and Styling Director of Italdesign Giugiaro and Member of the Board of Italdesign Giugiaro, today part of the Volkswagen Group. After specializing in the arts, studying
architecture and several years of training, in 1990 Fabrizio Giugiaro joins Italdesign to work fulltime and cooperate with international automakers to develop both concept and production cars,
mastering the broadest and most meaningful challenges taking shape across the car design spectrum: from structural architecture to proportions, ergonomics, aerodynamics and aesthetics,
technologies and materials.
Nowadays Fabrizio Giugiaro operates transversally for the brands of the VW Group, in a full and reciprocal collaboration with the Group’s management, providing creativity for future new vehicles
and making an important contribute to the VW 2018 global growth strategy.
In 2006 he was also appointed to the Styling Direction of Giugiaro Design, the Industrial Design business unit of the Company, and in 2010 a further appointment : Chairman of Giugiaro
Architettura, a company owned by the Giugiaro family for architectural projects and urban design.
In March, 2012 the Georgian Technical University of Tbilisi awards him a degree Honoris Causa for his outstanding achievements and international contribution in the fields of architecture and
Under his responsibility several significant production cars were designed, in particular LM Gallardo, Chevrolet Matiz, Maserati 3200 GT and Fiat Idea.
Some of Fabrizio Giugiaro’s most successful concept cars are the high performance BMW Nazca project, with chassis and body completely in carbon fibre, Structura conceived to highlight the
qualities of the Italdesign Giugiaro Engineering Division, the VW W12 World Record Car, designed, engineered and built in the Moncalieri Italdesign plant.
Some of his projects in the Industrial Design field were developed for Alstom, Okamura, Same and Nikon.
