Jardin de Verre is the new collection designed by Alessandro La Spada for la murrina composed of design and art items which speak for themselves and tell their own story.

A love story between man and nature is the tale of the nineteenth century English botanist, Nathaniel B. Ward, who studied the metamorphosis of a chrysalis closed in a jar with a handful of earth discovering that seeds and spores not only germinate but also survive for years. The result of his experiment lead to the so called “Wardian cases”, dome shaped jars which allowed transportation of plants and flowers from one continent to another and turned into decorative features in houses of the time.

Wardian cases have returned today to embellish homes, spaces and public areas thanks to a decidedly dream like collection formed by a chandelier, base, table and wall lamp. Each creation is uniquely shaped and distinguished by the dome shaped jar and delicate, gentle colour palette of amethyst, honey, periwinkle blue and crystal combined with shiny copper gold elements.
